That is one thing the Internet is full of: Wonderful stories involving animals.
I thought we could have a thread sharing favorites. I just stumbled upon this one which gave me the idea, but I'll go find some more now and post in this thread.

Some of these are older videos, but they're really timeless.
BTW, circuses suck!!! So glad my daughter realized that at a very early age and started educating her friends. She went to Thailand over winter break to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary; she raised the money to do so herself. It was an amazing experience, as you can imagine.
The GOOD news is there while there are still horrors in the world that require our attention, there is also a movement toward protecting our fellow creatures more and more as well. I'd love to live/work at a sanctuary.

A rescued stray named Ben walked 10 miles through a midwestern winter to find the love of his life -- a shy shelter dog named Jade.
Ben and Jade's story began long before owners Courtney and Jason Lawler came into their lives. According to the Tribune-Star, the dogs (both mixed German Shepherds) were initially strays living on the north end of Terre Haute, Indiana.
When one-year-old Jade became pregnant with 4-year-old Ben's puppies last summer, staffers from the Terre Haute Humane Shelter trapped them and took them to the shelter so they could better care for the mother-to-be.
“They were a bonded pair,” shelter manager Charles Brown told told the Tribune-Star. Ben and Jade were inseparable during the several months they spent at the shelter and even shared the same pen. But they were later torn apart when the Lawler's, who were only looking for one pet, adopted Ben.
