My new A1c is 6.5, one-tenth higher than the previous. Just one-tenth; still I'm unhappy - probably because I gave up Coca-Cola about six weeks ago. Maybe that's not enough time for the benefit of reducing sugar to show up.
I don't think the surgeon will have a problem with the higher number. Cross your fingers. I'll find out in a few days. Surgery's on the 23rd.

(823 posts)Fighting the A1c is tough and can be frustrating. Giving up Coke was a major step! My blood sugar goes up when I am in pain or anxious so sometimes it isn't what you ate. Hope your recovery from surgery goes well. Fingers 🤞

(1,460 posts)This was a couple of months ago. That surgery went well. The next is coming up on June 7 - a shoulder replacement. Lord, how I am dreading this. (My A1c is 5.9.
