Women of These Hills - 3 Cultures of Appalachia (Video)

This is a long video consisting of interviews with three women who represent the primary cultural/racial heritage of the southern Appalachians, particularly western North Carolina and East Tennessee: Cherokee, African-American, and Scots Irish.

Women of These Hills - 3 Cultures of Appalachia - 2000

I had a difficult time with the first viewing, probably because the video is so long that loading it can be initially erractic. I'd suggest downloading it for a later viewing. Fascinating stuff.

I was happy to have found that video... women's lives are so often lost among conventional "histories" that it was gratifying to know the stories of these women have been archived.
