Live in NJ which just made recreational cannabis legal to buy.

Hope I’m not breaking any rules but as a 60 year old who only tried weed twice in college while drunk I never experienced the drug. As an attorney I have seen cannabis work miracles on clients especially with ADHD and anxiety. My wife and I are pretty square, only drink occasionally and never more than 1 or 2 so I said to her when it becomes legal for recreational use we are going to try it. She is game. Well it’s legal and I heard we should try an edible. Any suggestions on what we should try. Looking for a happy, warm fuzzy high to try at least once.

She rarely drinks and tried pot a couple of times.

For her, she just doesn't like the feeling of not being in control.

Indica is more of a relaxed feeling while sativa (not Stavia ) gives more of a high - at least that's the claim. The thing to remember is it's all in your head. More neurons and synapses activated, so there is no reason to freak out. You will be "normal" in a little while, so why not enjoy the "abnormal" feelings cannabis brings, such as a sense of well-being, gratitude and an ability to enjoy such things as music, sex and chcocolate even more. At least that's what it does for me. So my advice is don't take it too seriously and find your level of stonedness after a few tries.

They're the best remedy I ever found for my insomnia. I live in Indiana and order them online from CO. A Pack of 10 is $30. You might give them a try.

5. Generally, 10 mg THC is a "dose".

Do not start with a bar or cookie or drink that has 100mg and try to do a limited dose. Start with products that have 2.5 mg or 5.0 mg per unit. That way you can get more precise dosage. There is a time delay that varies depending on your metabolism, your stomach contents, or your sensitivity to THC. So start with a small dose, like a 2.5 or 5.0 mg, wait about an hour for full effect. If you decide that is not enough, try a little more. If that is too much, then you probably don't like cannabis. The effects will start to wear off after about two hours, but you may still be high for longer as it wears off.

Expect initial euphoria, maybe a little giggly. Your mind will feel a little hazy, and you will likely be easily distracted and forgetful. You will be inebriated, however, so don't drive and be careful moving around, climbing stairs, cooking, etc. Have something to drink at hand, and snacks are always a plus. Choose a relaxed, comfortable environment during a time when you are not likely to be interrupted or disturbed. Music is nice, and sound and colors may seem enhanced. Expect to be ready for a nap afterwards.

There are variables in products you should be aware of. Sativas are a little energizing, like a strong cup of coffee. Indicas are sedative-like, and may make you drowsy and very relaxed. Hybrids are a cross between the two, often leaning toward one or the other. With hybrid, you may start with an energetic euphoria at first, and then settle into a very relaxed state. Some edibles have CDB, which may help you relax or sleep.

Keep in mind that you will not "OD" on a modest dose in a dangerous way. However, some people find the effects unpleasant. If that happens, just wait it out, you will come out of it after a while. You are not in danger, so don't panic.

I've smoked and done it all occasionally for a LONG time, and find 5mg is a happy place. 10 might be too much to start. After all...you want the experience to be pleasant and fun...

only saw her drink once. Maybe I will try first and decide if she should try. She is a type of person who is naturally happy so she is high on life. But seems like it might be fun if done right. Thanks for all the great info.
