1. IT'S A WAR

Democracy Now keeps talking like Israel started this. When was the last time they mentioned that a year ago Hamas invaded Israel, massacred 1200 people and took hostages? Even this broadcast describes 400 days since Israel invaded Gaza, like it happened for no reason. When I first heard of this a year ago I thought, "Well, if Hamas wants Israel to drive the Palestinians into the sea, this will do it." In a war civilians die. Lots of civilians. In World War Two Germany regularly bombed London, killing many civilians. Many civilians were killed in Germany from allied bombing. In Japan, long before Hiroshima, the US used fire bombs on Japan which to this day the Japanese people consider a horror they will long remember and discuss. I'm unaware that during World War Two the allies were criticized over the countless civilian deaths. But this war is taking place while the world watches and they are shocked, shocked that civilians are dying following Hamas declaring war on Israel. Hamas is using the Palestinians as human shields and those shields are regularly being butchered because of the war Hamas launched.

2. The Palestinian people aren't "human shields," they're human beings, and Hamas

was enabled by Netanyahu to dominate over the Palestinian people in Gaza as a counter to the Palestinian Authority because he didn't want the Palestinian people to have democracy.

The Palestinian people have been living in the world's largest open air prison for the past 17 years guarded by Hamas on the inside and the IDF on the outside.

The day after our election Netanyahu fired his defense minister; Yoav Gallant who had been calling for an investigation into the attack on October 7th.

Also the largest group of Israeli hostages were freed during the only ceasefire but despite killing the Palestinian leadership including the chief Hamas ceasefire/peace negotiator, the IDF has just been shooting fish in a barrel telling them to move to the other side of the barrel.

Netanyahu doesn't care about the Israeli Hostages anymore than he does the Palestinian people or the American People.

Netanyahu's goal has always been to take over the illegally occupied West Bank/Gaza strip and annex them, so he's committing ethnic cleansing, mass murder and possibly genocide while just using October 7th as an excuse to do so. Having said that history didn't begin nor end on October 7th.
