seem like he's pulled together and strong, but his brain IS broken. His campaign staff cannot predict when he will melt into mush so they are cancelling appearances.

The campaign is propping him up the best that they can just to get across the finish line and then dump him.

We've seen a similar Republican movie before. Reagan's Alzheimer dementia was hidden better. In his second term, Bush the Elder and Cheney were running the show from behind the scenes. Maybe even in the first term because, even when not suffering from Alzheimer's dementia, Reagan did not have the brains to run the country.
