This would make an interesting spy fiction except for the fact that Trump is a laughable clown. He is certainly a villain but he is also a joke. Mussolini seemed a bit ridiculous also like that. Clownish. But dangerous. Putin is serious though. As serious as a heart attack. It is no surprise that Putin and Trump are colluding. Putin is a murderous dictator and Trump is a wannabe dictator. Putin actively likes disrupting the USA in any way possible, especially cheap internal agents. A few million bucks strategically placed and suddenly an ultra-narcissist rides down a gold elevator and rampages through a primary. Some tens of millions of bucks and bot farms start swaying the needle significantly in favor of the chaos agent.

But Putin is done with tRump, even though he clandestinely favors tRump (despite public statement he hopes Harris wins). He can read tea leaves. He has other ways of fulminating chaos. For example, mystery funding that Palestinian protestors in the US don't even know where it comes from but are glad to take to shut down campuses and force Harris to protect her flank.

Putin's goal in this election is to get it as close to 50-50 as he can. St Petersburg web brigades are effective at seeding chaos in other areas, like anti-FEMA rumours. Tucker Carlson is funded by RT (Russia Today).

Globally, Putin controls little, but disrupts lots.

BTW how much of the Steele Dossier has been proven false? Zero. And Trump getting
the 10 million from Egypt* in cash proves the big part of the Steele Dossier and that is
Trump is on the take and owes other countries, oligarchs, and mobsters millions and that
is why Jared Kushner sent China 18 tons of PPE because he and Trump owe China millions.
