How are they even going to hear about if if they don't watch tv or go online? And if someone informs them via a conversation or hand written letter, what are they going to do with their objections? Post about it on social media?

And they don't own any guns.

Gut Gotte! They are the least American inhabitants of this country that one can imagine. I've heard reports of dogs that have accidentally shot people. Don't tell me that the Amish expect their dogs to handle pitchforks, that's crazy!
