Arkansas Granny
Arkansas Granny's JournalQuestion about citizenship and deportation.
One of my daughters in law is from Vietnam. She and my son have 2 children who were born in the US while my dil was a permanent resident, but before she became a naturalized citizen.
Since then, they have adopted 2 children from Vietnam, a niece and nephew of my dil. Everything was done legally with all the i's dotted and t's crossed.
Should I be worried about their status and possible deportation or is Trump only going after Hispanic individuals?
"Brickyard Blues" - Three Dog Night
?si=W6Tjm8RBxu4kege9I just went to the NWS website to check the event forecast for my area
When I zoomed out on the radar, I saw that the map still shows The Gulf of Mexico. Ya reckon that's why Trump and Musk want it shut down?
Potato soup. Why haven't I thought of this before?
Today has been chilly, windy and damp. I decided that potato soup would hit the spot. I had one russet potato and some Yukon golds, so I used both. The Yukon golds kept their shape, but the russet broke down and thickened the soup and made it really creamy.
I finished it off with some half and half and a big spoonful of cream cheese spread with onion and chives. Really hit the spot.
It's turkey frame soup day.
My daughter and I spent Thanksgiving with one of my sons and extended family. For many years we have made turkey soup the day after. Sometimes we only add veggies, sometimes we add rice. This year I have been requested to make homemade noodles which we've never done before.
I'm enlisting 4 teenaged grandchildren to help. They all got involved with dinner prep yesterday and we had a good time. Today they are having pie for breakfast.
Question about recipe ingredient.
This recipe looks very interesting, but I don't understand the addition of white vinegar. What exactly does it do for the pie?
Ingredients
3 whole Eggs, Beaten
1-½ cup Sugar
1 cup Flaked Coconut
1 stick Butter, Melted
1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 pinch Salt
1 whole 9" Uncooked Pie Shell
Preparation Instructions
Mix filling ingredients well and pour into the pie shell. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
I'm definitely going to try this, but was curious about the vinegar.
Trump putting RFK Jr. in charge of women's health reminds me of this from 2005.
Remember how George W. Bush selected as his FEMA director a man whose last job involved judging horse shows for the International Arabian Horse Association? Well, the president's Food and Drug Administration commissioner has appointed an acting director for the Office of Women's Health, and he's a man -- a man! -- who has spent much of his career working in the field of veterinary medicine.

This gives me a little insight regarding how Republicans view women.
So he has the Presidency, the House, the Senate and SCOTUS.
I don't see anything good coming from this.
I have received a New Product Test Invitation from Amazon.
According to the card, "You will not only get free product here but also commission for your time and effort!" Has anyone done this or know someone who has? I'm not sure what all is involved with this.
So I asked my daughter today if she would be ordering her usual Arnold Palmer the next time she went out to eat.
Her response: Oh, God, no!
