Girard442's JournalBeen studying the text of Lousiana House Bill 71 mandating the classroom display of the Ten Commandments.
What an amateurish piece of garbage. It repeatedly references "The Ten Commandments" as if there was a consensus as to the exact text, when in fact, no such consensus exists. The mandated text matches, as far as I know, no version accepted by any major Christian or Jewish denomination. Considering that theologians have traditionally pored over the minutia of sacred texts in attempts to divine the exact meaning of God's words, just making up your own verbiage on the fly is an exercise in rank stupidity and gross disrespect for truly devout people.
Might as well ask David Letterman to make up a Top Ten List of God's Favorites. At least it would be funny.
Looking for a Hitler biography to recommend to my MAGA sibs.
They think all this TSF stuff has never happened before. It might help them to see that it has -- and didn't end well.
I'm reading Volker Ullrich's "Hitler, Ascent, 1889-1939" which really hits the target -- except it's a tome. Looking for something that people who are not hardcore readers might actually look at. "Maus" might work, but it would be hard to get MAGAs to take it seriously.
Thanks in advance,
G
Yippee-ki-yay, Motherfucker!!!!
Anyone know where to send $$$ to support abortion rights in MO?
I was born in MO and grew up there. I'm generally appalled how the state has lurched to the right over the years.
I'm thinking I'd like to target the referendum specifically. Or not.
I'm curious if there is a way to set up a completely self-contained web site on an Android phone.
Self-contained in that everything is on the phone including the wifi hotspot and that it still works when even there's no cell phone service -- your basic desert-island scenario.
Yeah, I know. In an actual desert island scenario, dinking with your cell is probably not going to be uppermost on your mind.
Not a lawyer, so help me out on this one:
A defendant is found guilty in a criminal trial on a charge that typically doesn't carry a heavy sentence. Can the judge take into account the defendant's other acts and behaviors for sentencing?
I wonder if we've hit a point where SCOTUS will do whatever it takes to make Trump POTUS again?
It's time to become an atheist.
Leave behind the darkness of irrationality, fear, and superstition and come walk in the sunshine
Now that the appeals court has intervened in Trump's bond issues...
...expect them to intervene again and again.
Enjoying the water, fellow frogs?
"Where'd the money come from, Donnie?"
Should be on bumpers, billboards, social media, and radio and TV nonstop if TFG makes bond.
