Yeah, it's just one week, but this isn't going to last just a few weeks.
How many will die because of the single most corrupt and incompetent president since Warren Harding and his greasy enablers in Congress?
November needs to be a clean sweep, so we can begin to rebuild the country.
"Donald Trump's Cult of Personality Did This"

Neither the tide of pestilence sweeping the nation nor the economic calamity that will follow was inevitable. They are the predictable outcomes of the presidents authoritarian instincts, his obvious incompetence, and the propaganda apparatus that has shielded him from accountability by ensuring that the public is blinded to his role in the scale of this disaster.

The coronavirus pandemic provides a rigorous case study in the priorities of most of the conservative press: Faced with a choice between informing their own audiences about dire threats to public health, and propping up a Republican president, they chose the latter, because informing the public is not their job. The job of outlets like Fox News is to ensure that the conservative masses believe that their leader is infallible, even if it causes them tremendous personal harm.
-snip-
Americans want to believe that their leaders are competent, engaged, and concerned about their well-being. Recognizing that the presidency is occupied by an incompetent narcissist whose major life accomplishment is parlaying an inherited fortune into reality-show celebrity is rather less comforting, but it is the world we live in.

The other day I remembered that line from Trump's inauguration speech about "American carnage".
Thanks to his egotism and blithering incompetence, we're about to see that carnage manifested in economic terms and in the deaths of many.
One of the best analyses I've seen on the pandemic.

RIP, a great composer and keyboard player who, got fed up with the music business. So, through self-study, he became a software engineer and an architect.

Donald Trump and Stochastic Terrorism
noun
The public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted:
The lone-wolf attack was apparently influenced by the rhetoric of stochastic terrorism.
If (Hillary Clinton) gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the second amendment people, maybe there is, I dont know." -Donald Trump, August 2016
Ms. Clinton was under Secret Service protection when Trump said this. The agency should have investigated and arrested him right then for making a terroristic threat to a presidential candidate. Instead, Trump now has the largest megaphone in the world to incite violence toward those who he hates.
For Speaker Pelosi and the House of Representatives, it is not, nor should it be, a question of political strategy. For the basic safety of the American people, Trump must be impeached, now. And all major news outlets have a moral responsibility to no longer cover and disseminate the hate he spews.
'The president's insane': book by CNN's Jim Acosta charts Trump war on press
True to the style of Washington political reporting often complained about by Trump, Acosta mostly uses unnamed sources, many of whom are said to have spoken over social drinks. They are often blunt in their assessment of their boss. A senior White House official tells Acosta: The presidents insane.

We've known this, but it does beg the question: What kind of people willingly work for a man who is out of his mind?
Residents of Florida Coast Increasingly Desperate for Food and Shelter
Source: New York Times
A familiar tension of disasters is emerging throughout the Florida Panhandle: People are increasingly desperate for food, water and shelter, but a sprawling relief operation is confronted with challenging conditions that are delaying the delivery of help.
Emergency workers said they were struggling, two days after the storm made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane, to create paths into the hardest-hit communities, limiting their ability to deliver millions of pounds of supplies that were stockpiled ahead of the destruction.
Beyond the formerly picturesque coastline, the Panhandle is a densely wooded region, and many roads are still blocked with debris. The Red Cross said that it had loaded some of its supplies onto National Guard trucks because the terrain was too difficult for some of the nonprofits own vehicles.
In April, FEMA said that residents of Puerto Rico should keep 10 days of supplies on hand. But for people in the continental United States, the government recommends a far smaller amount: enough food and water for three days or more. And as the weekend neared, it was becoming increasingly clear that many Panhandle residents were not only left without a habitable home but also without adequate stockpiles of food in the aftermath of the devastating storm.

Femen co-founder Oksana Shachko found dead in Paris flat
Source: The Guardian
Oksana Shachko, one of the founders of the Femen feminist protest movement, has been found dead in her Paris apartment, the group has said.
The 31-year-old Ukrainian was found on Monday with a suicide note next to her body, according to Femen activists.

Shachko was one of four feminist activists who founded Femen in Ukraine in 2008. Exiled in France since 2013, she had since left the group and was working as an artist.

Their protests also challenged authoritarianism and racism, with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, a particular target, along with Frances far-right Front National party.
