Elon Musk's X/Twitter to Charge $1 per Year for Users to Post on the Platform

Elon Musk has kicked off his plan to charge users of X, formerly known as Twitter, to post content to the social network.

As of Oct. 17, 2023, X said in a post on its website that it has started testing “Not A Bot,” a new subscription tier for new users in two countries: the Philippines and New Zealand.

The “Not a Bot” subscription plan will cost $1 annually, according to X (adding that prices vary by country and currency). New users on X on the plan will be able to “perform certain actions on the web version of the platform: post content, Like posts, Reply, Repost and Quote other accounts’ posts, Bookmark posts.”

New X users who do not pay the $1/year fee will only be able to take “read-only” actions, such as: read posts, watch videos and follow accounts, according to X.

Elon Musk says Twitter, now X, is to charge all users subscription fees

"Musk has indicated that X, formerly known as Twitter, is preparing to charge all users for accessing the platform.

The X owner said erecting a paywall around the business would ward off the bots, or automated accounts, that have become a bugbear for Musk.

Speaking in a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, the Tesla CEO and world’s richest person suggested that X was going to charge its user base. James Saunders, the 56-year-old Shaker Heights tax attorney convicted last week of voting multiple times in the last two general elections, was sentenced to three years in prison, a judge decided Monday morning.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Andrew Santoli coupled Saunders' sentence with a $10,000 fine, a punishment, as Santoli detailed in last week's hearing, to match the severe violation against the nation's voting laws.

"You violated the premise that every citizen, regardless of race, creed or religion, speaks in one voice," Santoli told Saunders from the bench last Monday. "Your opinion does not outweigh other citizens."

What kind of a person "needs" to cheat at golf?

Trump claims he won golf club championship in 67 shots - 8 better than Phil Mickelson’s score two weeks ago.


Donald Trump has claimed he won Bedminster’s Senior Club Championship with an impressive five-under-par score of 67 - eight shots better than Phil Mickelson took at the course earlier this month.

Mr Trump bragged about the win on Truth Social and even gave out the phone number of the course’s head professional if anyone wanted to confirm his victory.

“I am pleased to report, for those that care, that I just won the Senior Club Championship (must be over 50 years old!) at Bedminster (Trump National Golf Club), shooting a round of 67,” Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday.

His score was significantly better than six-time major tournament winner Mickelson scored at the LIV Golf event on the same Bedminister course a few weeks ago.

Mr Trump acknowledged that people may have some reservations about his claim.

“Some people will think that sounds low, but there is no hanky/lanky,” he wrote.

“Many people watch, plus I am surrounded by Secret Service Agents. Not much you can do even if you wanted to, and I don’t. For some reason, I am just a good golfer/athlete – I have won many Club Championships, and it is always a great honor!”

Mr Trump was so keen to make sure that his score was believed that he later posted the phone number of Bedminster’s head golf professional, Mickey Gallagher, for people to call and ask for themselves.

US has cleared way for F-16s to be sent to Ukraine, say Denmark and Netherlands.

"Kajsa Ollongren, the Dutch defence minister, said she welcomed the US decision “to clear the way for delivery of F-16 jets to Ukraine”, which would allow the coalition “to follow through on the training of Ukrainian pilots”.

Denmark’s defence minister said donating F-16 jets was “a natural next step” after pilot training was completed. “We are discussing it with close allies, and I expect we will soon be able to be more concrete about that,” Jakob Ellemann-Jensen added."
