(6,860 posts)I have a C&R FFL -- that's a "Curio-and-Relic Federal Firearms License," a license for collectors that allows me to purchase firearms over 50 years old or have been deemed "curios" by the ATF, foregoing the usual background check for each purchase. (I still have to have a background check for each purchase of any non-C&R firearm.) I have a small collection of vintage rifles, mostly WW II era, and Cold War era handguns from the Eastern Bloc: Russian, Czech, Bulgarian, Yugoslav. I also have more than a few "modern" firearms.
I compete in three target disciplines: trapshooting (shotgun), .22 rifle, and .22 pistol. I also have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. I live in a state that makes that a very difficult thing to get, and the powers-that-be have deemed me sufficiently trustworthy to have one.
