Why would anyone want to answer it “yes I own guns”? Then have that used as proof down the road on a reason to do a house search?
Anyone residing in a state with no gun registration has no gains no benefit from letting others, especially others with opposing views, from knowing that answer; especially if the question is gun type specific.
The point being (from the non benefit of answering truthfully),in the event of an type of gun ban, make it so they can’t prove or disprove you hand guns to hand over or if you handed them all over. You can’t prove or disprove a negative. A court can’t make a person prove they didn’t dig a hole and stuff it with guns the court can’t prove they ever had to begin with.
