Thanksgiving was always a very difficult day at our house when I was a kid. The stress of preparing that elaborate dinner used to drive my mother through the roof.
By the time I was teenager, we'd all had it. None of us liked turkey anyway! So Mom made tacos that Thanksgiving, and we loved 'em. It became a family tradition for the rest of my school years.

I voted for mashed potatoes, but a close runner up was turkey and the vegetables (green veggies)

The only veggie I like is a potato. You are spot on about cooking mashed potatoes.
