And Tennessee Republicans have their undies in a bunch over it? How HYPOCRITICAL of them.
Perhaps they are still miffed at Colin Kaepernick for his stand regarding the National Anthem and the treatment of African-Americans by Police Forces around the country.

I'm old enough to remember when the "under god" was put into the Pledge.

The phrase "under God" was not part of the pledge until the Red Scare days of the 1950's.
