37. Primaries are not elections.

They are a tool for a political party to help decide its candidate for POTUS. There is nothing in the Constitution about the primaries or how they need to be run. It is a process for the party, not the country. Not everyone gets to vote in the Democratic Primary -- unless it is a state with provisions for it, it is limited to registered Democrats.

The nomination will be decided at the convention, which is where it officially always has been done anyway. I doubt if any other Democrat throws his/her hat into the ring other than Kamala Harris. She will be the candidate from a unified Democratic Party, and the only surprise would be whom she picks as her running mate.
