I wonder if any of this has occurred to Liz Cheney [View all]

If the thinking of those in her former caucus is so wrong when it comes to adoration of an autocratic rapist, might they also be wrong about any of the numerous policies on which she agrees with them?

I know that many here want to focus on the benefit of her break and that’s good. But there’s nothing wrong with asking questions, right?

I personally envision a future where lifelong Republicans (perhaps including Cheney) who voted for Kamala Harris realize that a responsible government that taxes and spends with a concentration on those closer to the margins rather than those with the most power isn’t so bad after all. If that’s the case, in a few years we can get back to more bipartisanship and less brinksmanship. It may well be a longshot, but It’s what I think about when I think about Liz Cheney.

While I heartily welcome discussion, I politely ask to be spared of lectures on how I should be viewing Liz Cheney at this moment.

We can hope. She's VERY conservative. I think she'll get a position in the Harris administration. Joinfortmill Oct 2024 #1
