Lots of horrified surprise this morning. What to do?
Immediately, do nothing. Just stop. Wait a bit until the acute pain passes. Take as much waiting time as you need.
Then, think about it. What caused this? Why did it happen so surprisingly? What will it mean to me as an individual? What will it mean to my community? Take as much time as you need to sort it all out and get some understanding of it.
Finally, plan. Plan for yourself. Plan for your family and friends. Plan for the future. Plan rationally, with a recognition of the reality of things. Don't just hope. Plan.
That's the best advice I can give this morning.

I worked for someone who survived that, but only because her parents had sent her off to Greece...

Right, plenty of blame to go around with a bunch left over for us all to share if we're so inclined.

I hope Biden & Co. had plans ready to deal with this situation if it happened.

I delighted I live here. Last time we were quick to make laws of support for our citizens.
