14. I don't want a "male protector."

God, that myth dies hard. Criminals like Joseph DeAngelo got off on murdering couples, you know, including "male protectors," by subduing the men, raping and torturing their girlfriend and wives while the "protectors" helplessly watched, and then killing them both. He wasn't unique; there are numerous examples of this. Often, the "protectors" are killed before the women are. Besides, the vast majority of murder victims in the US are men--79 percent of them--and almost always killed by other men.

Men don't protect women. They never have, they never will. They pose a greater danger to women if women date them, live with them, or marry them.

Those are just facts. It isn't women's "job" to arm themselves or restrict their movements. What that implies is women "ask for it" if they have the nerve to use public space, which is their right.
