What I said, above, is about assembling documentation so you have something to refer to, later, if you need to. Cuz if you’re a normal human being, you’re very likely to forget something, and later, you may want (or need) a reminder. Make a note.
Make several notes.
Make sure to date them and note the time, if you can. The more details you have, the more believable you are. Credibility is king.

We’ve been watching a “marathon” of “To Catch a Smuggler” programs. It’s just stunning to me how many of the perpetrators facing hot water cannot answer simple questions about something that looks suspicious. They wind up looking
a) stupid
And b) awfully fishy and non-credible.
