I get you. I had a super high clearance, I went places the base commander couldn't go without an escort. And I never shared anything, never stole anything, never did wrong. I loved my country and I did everything I could to bring truth and honor to it.
Now we get a slap in the face, because we are suckers and losers. We didn't play the game to better our selves. We didn't lie, steal and break every law for our own benefit. We did the right things, despite many of us being so poor we barely ate, and lived in rat holes, wore worn-out clothes and shoes, didn't get dental and medical help like we should have, and on top of all that, were given shit educations. But we worked, we did what we could to make our lives better, to make things better for our kids, and for others.
See, our failing is that we weren't born with a silver spoon, didn't benefit from family money, didn't get to slide through college without effort. We forgot where the true bootstraps were, in family wealth and privilege we didn't earn ourselves (from family who lied, stole and cheated for all they have).
