I get the term use to define some connection to technology but it seems to be lacking in the context of it's usage.

What we are seeing is just the use of technology for autocrats or oligarchs to gain and maintain control. It would remain an autocracy or oligarchy none the less.

It would still be aligned with the power of money as being the primary driver. We don't call them Moneycracy.

Just as Money is useful, so is Technology. The both can be used to corrupt things.

I would suggest something else that can be more distinctive on the corruption part in any terms to define this, but of course, I have no counter suggestion at this time.
