(69,027 posts)Ive been here since the beginning back in 2001. Thats twenty-three years of hearing differing viewpoints. Twenty-three years of hearing a free exchange of ideas.
Is it always civil? Is it always free from invective and profane passions? No.
But we usually manage to achieve a consensus, however shaky it may be at times.
But these disagreements and differences are almost always over policy and strategy. There are a few things that are non-negotiable, because they are non-negotiable with the people who hate and oppose us.
And one of those things is the name of the party we support, which is the Democratic Party. Not the Democrat Party. Insisting that people here on this site use the proper name of the party, and the proper adjectival term for the party is not being narrow-minded, living in a bubble, or being deaf to other points of view.
Anyone peevishly insisting on using the term Democrat Party here can plausibly be assumed to be a right-wing interloper.
