Political realities sometimes offer up no good answers to that. IF (highly, highly unlikely) Trump and the Rethug's machinations do not cause massive hardship, and especially (even more unlikely) IF they end up having a net positive effect for the majority of people, that will only serve to further aid their political takeover of the nation.
