(10 posts)Children fear the dark because of what it seems to be.
It seems to be mysterious and full of the unknown. Full of all the monsters in one's imagination.
Horrid, cruel, hideous, and hidden.
The absence of light,
the dulling of sight, the shade falling,
fear. Fear.
It is fear which colors the perception, distracts attention,
dims senses and removes thought, reason and clarity because of the ominous demons
who live in the imagination.
For this, we cannot
we cannot...
we must remember ourselves,
our resolve
our friends
our neighbors
whose demons are different,
who blind them - but we can see
as fear only
not the horror that appears to them.
This is our time,
this is our fight,
this is our time
this is our moment to deny the demons power,
and destroy fear in the face of our hopes
and overcome darkness, by being a light for another
and not depart - or disdain, but overcome.
The darkness holds no power,
and we're no longer children looking to see the world
through simple eyes,
but in full-view.
Without any misunderstanding
there is nothing which we must fear,
because we are not alone.
