The original novel was set during Christmas and was the main element that was retained for the movie. Plus the films themes are about family, redemption, forgiveness and reconciliation. That sounds very Christmas to me. Theres a reason his wifes name is Holly.

Didn't understand that movie. Christmas lights, all women except wives naked prostitutes, guys in Halloween costumes.

I'd take Christmas Story over Die Hard. Shep is SLIGHTLY more hypnotic than Rickman.
