Supreme Court refuses to delay Trumps hush money sentencing
A divided Supreme Court refused to delay Donald Trumps sentencing in his hush money case, clearing the way for the president-elect to face judgment in a New York courtroom on Friday and to be formally classified as a felon before he returns to the White House.
Trump turned to the Supreme Court in a last-ditch effort to stop the hearing, citing the conservative majoritys explosive opinion in July that granted him and other former presidents immunity from criminal prosecution for their official acts.
He is set to be sentenced Friday, after a jury convicted him of 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment made to an adult-film actress during the 2016 election. New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who presided over Trumps trial, has said he does not plan to give the incoming president jail time or probation.
But the completion of the sentencing hearing would formalize Trumps status as the first former president or president-elect convicted of criminal wrongdoing a designation Trump had hoped to avoid.

Possibility because that Trump BS is causing more scrutiny of the court than Roberts can stand up to

Maybe being in proximity to the vile male justices is making it easier for her to see the roots of many problems?

Barrett is interesting. I expected Kavanaugh to be more of a rule of law guy though.

She seems fairly honest so far and not swayed by a ton of external interests quite yet.

Of course Alito should have recused himself but he is corrupt like the other GOPers.

But get this. Though he's said otherwise, Judge Merchan still might NOT grant unconditional discharge.

Maybe it was vaguely mentioned? Shows how corporate media have ignored such negatives about their guys for a long time.

Imagine if a different (Democrat) First Lady had run over someone and killed them.

Let's imagine ourselves making more positive demands of our congress people and stop staring at the FOX trainwreck.

It's still a scary slim majority. Do the dissenting four explain themselves anywhere?
