I think the answer is yes. He no longer needs them, after all. He will get inaugurated on Monday, almost certainly. Once that happens, he no longer needs the support of all of those he convinced to vote for him.
He doesn't like his followers. They're stupid. They have very limited money to grift. They have no power. He likes rich people. They can feed his lust for wealth. His ignorant and slavish followers are just numbers to him.
So, MAGA is out in the cold on Inauguration Day. He'll be in the warm Capitol Rotunda with his rich buddies and other powerful people. They are the ones who can help him now. They're charged up with anticipation of the benefits Trump can give them to help them expand their own wealth.
It's the Griftocracy, not the masses of stupid people, that Trump wants. He doesn't care whether his MAGA followers thrive or die. He doesn't need them any more. He can't run for President again.
Trump is unlikely to live more than 10 or so years, at most. Meanwhile, he can line his pockets over and over again. That's his "precious." That's all he considers to be important.
He also likes people who will bow down to him, as long as they have wealth. And the wealthy people who flock to him know that there are riches to be garnered through the opportunities Trump presents.
MAGA followers can suck it, as far as Trump is concerned. Will they realize that? Probably, but it will be too late for them.
Hold firm, everyone. Stick to your principles. In the end, I think they will keep you safe and well.
