My humble suggestion about how to move forward from Trump. [View all]

1. We stop focusing on what Trump, MAGA, Fox News hosts, etc. say. There's no benefit to living in constant outrage. Maybe you could make the case before the election, but not any more.

Our focus should be on...

2. Finding new leaders for the Democratic party. Right now, we don't have any national leaders. We have a few governors and congress people but few of them have a national profile. We need to spend our energy finding new leaders.

But what about the midterms?

3. After the 2004 elections, Barack Obama emerged as a possible new leader. During the 2006 midterms, he personally campaigned for several Democrats. Well, that's what we need now more than ever. We need new national figures that can help the Democrats re-take congress. Maybe that's Andy Beshear or Gretchen Whitmer or Josh Shapiro or someone else that we do not know. But now is the opportunity for someone to make a name for him or her or their self.

I know that everyone is suffering from anxiety and looking for payback, but that's only going to make you even more anxious and depressed. Put your energy to positive use and look forward to the future.

The beginning of the end of the Trump era happens when he takes the oath. It can all come to an end in 2026. Let's focus on that.
