44. I hate Musk/X too, but some things to consider...

...I've said all this here before, but I'll say it again.

1-Every click & like/comment/repost on a post by a Democratic ally who has monetized their account benefits that Democratic ally. It takes money OUT of Musk's pocket & puts it INTO the pocket of our allies. Why? Because anyone who has monetized their account makes money off of every interaction. This isn't a secret, it's clearly stated in the X TOS & I can verify that it is in fact how it actually works.
2-I always right-click the link & select "open link in new tab," & I haven't left DU. Easy.
3-As explained (#1) when you interact with a monetized Democratic ally you're aiding (giving Musk's money to) that ally, not an enemy.

And perhaps most important of all:
4-While you're on X click on all the right-wing nutjob promoted ads you can... yes I know that's vile but hear me out. If the ad has a link to a video or website that's even better. Click on that link 30-40-50 times if you can. Why? Because every time you click on the web/video link of an X advertiser it costs the advertiser in the range of 30-50 cents. That's about 10x what an average monetized user makes when you interact with them. Advertisers on X have an ad budget which pays for a certain number of interactions. When that ad budget is used up their ad stops running & disappears from X. If millions of Democrats clicked on those right-wingnut web/video links as soon as they appeared, dozens & dozens of times, we could exhaust their ad budget (totally waste their money) & literally shut down their advertising within hours (perhaps minutes) of it appearing. Why do people think that's a bad thing? Why do folks think shutting down batshit crazy right-wing advertising on X is something we shouldn't do? Why do people want to facilitate that? Why is shutting it down not a massive organized effort by our side?

Honestly, the only answer I can come up with is it's because folks don't want to take the time to do credible research, & learn, educate themselves, & understand how things work. They just want to react with knee-jerk hate. Which truly pains me... because... that's how right-wing nutjobs react.
*long sigh* Can we we PLEASE not be like them? Can we PLEASE be smarter & more strategic than them? Please?

Sorry if I offend anyone by saying this, but I truly believe we should be smarter. WE SHOULD BE A LOT FUCKING SMARTER!

So, go ahead y'all... flame me.. mute me.. block me... whatever. I'm just tired of watching GOP fascists destroy our country while we don't do obvious things to fight back against their agenda.
