8. Who knew? The left just lost their monopoly on making "billionaire" a dirty word. And I once knew a former Hitler Youth.

The guy was born in 1935, was ten years old when the war ended, so he was never drafted into the Wehrmacht like my father-in-law was. But he was old enough to be inducted into the Hitler Youth. He told me about it when he was about 70. He said there was no way anyone like me could ever imagine the thoroughness of their indoctrination. It was total immersion, a de facto removal of the boys' capacity for free thought, and a substitution of a robot-like devotion to the quasi-religion of National Socialism and Hitler worship. He said it took him years to realize completely what had been done to him and his generation. It's what the extremist wing of the Republican Party wants to do to our nation starting yesterday. Own the schools, force religion (theirs) on everyone, and eliminate any capacity for questioning the one and only "truth" they are taught.
