As you correctly noted, there is indeed a lot of disinformation that's harmful to Democrats (and, by extension, that benefits Trump, the GOP, and their Russian handlers/allies). You also hit the nail directly on the head when you characterized it as being spread by folks who are "ignorant and malicious."
That's why I think it's incumbent upon us all to NOT pile-on, or amplify the negativity that's already out there. While DU may be our safe little "bubble" it does not exist in a vacuum. It is not impervious to outside observers. Also, the things we say and write here are frequently the SAME THINGS we say to our friends, family, colleagues and neighbors out in the real world. (And one person repeats it to two more, who tell two more, and so on, and so on.)
We can help control the narrative too. I think that's definitely do-able.
