Okay,.......... AZT, developed by the U.S. Government, was given to a drug company to manufacture.......That drug company, as a condition of them manufacturing it, demanded the U.S. Government not allow anyone to sue them re AZT.
The Pharma people are always saying, the outrageous price of the drugs is because we have massive development costs, and massive liability costs................... In this case they had neither. Wow, a pharmaceutical company's wet dream come true........

Okay, they started manufacturing it, and releasing it at an outrageous selling price of six bucks a pill, with people needing to take 6-8 pills a day. Back then, 30 years ago, that was way, way, beyond a ludicrous amount of money.............

Years later, W is in office when that pharmaceutical company's "cash cow AZT" was going OFF patent, meaning anyone could manufacturer it, and sell it at a much lower price. The Chinese openly stated they were going to start manufacturing it, and sell it, at a profit, for 12 CENTS a pill.........

The W admin immediately announced they were going to give SIX BILLION Dollars to the AIDs effort, which everyone cheered! What the public didn't know, was that they were going to use the entire SIX BILLION to buy the AZT FROM THE ORIGINAL CORPORATION, at 6 dollars a pill, just before it went off patent....

Cute, huh.........
