(22,000 posts)27. I have a Iranian friend on Facebook who I met in a MOOC class
He's a younger guy who is trying to get an education. I knew another Iranian when I was an undergrad. He was our resident assistant in the dorm. A real nice guy. In graduate school there were lots of Turkish male students (which is kind of funny because the school is Catholic).
As I have stated in other posts that I grew up in a small town (18,000) with very few minorities. I was able to go off to university and meet people from many different backgrounds and live in Portland for 11 years and then 12 years ago move here to Korea. I consider myself lucky that I have been able to experience so much 23 years or so.
