(592 posts)Happy Days Are Here Again. Threw out the dinner plans in favor of some good takeout. At the grocery store, I kept on singing it under my breath - got a very odd look from a guy in the freezer section. This news made my day. The ketchup's gonna hit the wall tonight!
And I keep remembering he brought it all on himself. As a tacky two-bit mobbed-up New York real estate guy with a tv show and enough money for a lot of lawyers, he was just not worth going after. Then he had to run for President because Obama committed the crime of Mocking While Black. He made himself worth going after.
And because he's too stupid to understand he can't get away with the same stuff anymore, he never even tried very hard to hide anything. He sucks at crime'ing, which is ironic given how much experience he's had. It's not like the evidence was hard to find. His chief defense is still "Yea, so? Whaddya think you're going to do about it? I can do anything I want, I can take anything I want. If I want it, it's mine. Because I say so."
And he's cheap. By now, nobody sane believes he's going to pay their legal fees, pardon them or do anything but trash them once their immediate usefulness is ended. Because of this, there are very few rats remaining on the ship already and he's going to lose the rest. The entire case is about his using money that he was given by people to do other things with. None of this account was his personal piggybank. It's fraud and, given the amount of money that's likely involved, it's felony level. It just happened to be Stormy Daniels; the case would be the same if he'd taken the same amount of money from the same source and bought Melania a ring. (As if!) If he'd just used his own goddamned money, this wouldn't even be a case. But he's cheap. Stupid and cheap.
There isn't a violin tiny enough and there's not enough popcorn and bubbly. But I'll make do.
Happy Days Are Here Again!
