(13,859 posts)I'm not suggesting that he's ever actually paid anything out of his own pocket if he could help it. And I wouldn't put it past him to play that angle -- that is, tell everyone he paid for these poor families' costs out of his own pocket, if only for the publicity it would net him... but of course he wouldn't have actually done that, despite saying he did. But since it's already known that he's doing the GoFundMe, that potential ruse ship has already sailed. But anyhow, I do wonder whether the families could still choose to sue the Trump campaign, and then if he'd actually paid any of their tragic costs then it might look a bit like an admission of guilt. And in a related thought, I wonder if the families' ability to access the GoFundMe funds could be tied to their signing a waiver to not sue the campaign.
