He seems to be in line for leadership in the House and I don't think Trump can afford to have any open House seats even for the time necessary to hold a primary and special election to fill the seat.

Husted would be an easy choice - but he's in line to run for Governor two years from now and has the best chance at holding that slot. This is more likely an opportunity to appoint someone who might have trouble winning an initial campaign but who could hold the seat as an incumbent.

Maybe Ramaswamy so Trump doesn't have to find a spot for him in the administration?
