11. His school had a whole supplemental budget

They raised hundreds of thousands every years to supplement their budget. That way they could pay a few extra staff and fund some trips. Washington DC and two overnight trips one in 4th and one in 5th grade. The level of fundraising at the posh public schools always bothered me as you'd go to a less posh school in Brooklyn and their whole fundraising goal was $60 or $70,000 trying to get one part time gym teacher or whatever. I'd like to see a sharing between the most lucrative PTAs and the most needy ones. I really wish the Dept of Defense or big pharma had to run bake sales to make their budgetary needs.
