(29 posts)22. Jeff Beck
Your list is fine. I particularly admire Gilmour for his taste and tone. Every note counts without showboating. But I have to say Jeff Beck is the only one I really listen to almost daily. While he's got the same haircut he had in 1970, he's the only guitarist of his generation that is always growing always stretching, always changing. He can do fusion, rockabilly, jazz, heavy metal, blues, and delicate little things like "Nadia" using only his thumb, whammy bar, and an old white Strat. Every time I hear him, I want to carry my own Strat out to the dumpster. That's just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions, right?

Indeed, the best guitarists are those who make you want to abandon guitar and take up knitting
