2. About retirement-- I suspect those over 60 who vote for the McSallys don't really believe...

SS and Medicare could actually be reduced. They've been around so long, they're a given.

Another thing is that many retirees don't really need them. I don't know percentages nationwide, but in my area (and I presume Scottsdale) most seniors actually live off of savings and consider SS a nice perk. I see this in my job interviewing random local residents.
