... when I hear weak minds demand simplistic answers to complex questions, such as the validity of someone's chosen identity, I ask them, "Do you know why men have nipples?" That question elicits a startled reaction, but they always surrender to their curiosity and say, "No. Why?"
Because ALL humans, in deed, all mammals, are FEMALE during the first few weeks of gestation. The "Y" chromosome manifests itself at infinitely varied intervals during the process. The vast number of developmental processes occurring simultaneously are nearly impossible to quantify, and the potential variability of these developmental processes is literally infinite.
So, children are born gay every day. And children are born with what might be called polar variants, such as the difference between what gender their genitalia suggest they are, and what their minds tell them they are. And what their minds tell them they are is so strong, and their certainty so absolute, that they willingly endure all manner of abuse from ignorant fools in order to fulfill their destiny as the see it. Their awesome courage is to be admired.
So, Senator Summers, do your homework before you condemn that child. Or, better yet, just shut the fuck up.
