Karl Rove's prediction does the same thing. RCP has Texas solid Romney (because they are not averaging the polls), while Rove has Texas leaning Romney, because he did. Either way, Texas is supposed to be the GOP's California (where Obama leads by 23%) and Romney is only ahead by 7 points. When is the Obama campaign gonna move in there?
Given the fact that 37% of the population in Texas is Hispanic, and the GOP has effectively forfeited the Hispanic vote with their immigration policy, there is a good chance the state could be winnable this year... Or at least give Romney and the Super PACs a run for their money by forcing them to spend a ton of money defending it.
Is Texas winnable?
ON EDIT: I would like to also point out that 7% is only 1% separated from Obama's lead in Ohio (6%), which the media has declared up for grabs. If 6% is a "toss up" and 7% is "solid," then something is very, very strange.
