Your scenario presumes that Sanders supporters are mostly as ardent as those we experience here. I suspect not. Many (perhaps a plurality), I believe, are ABC voters.

I sense that more Sanders supporters will peel off, because they'll feel more comfortable with O'Malley's electability - ameliorating their biggest concern about Sanders - and would not be surprised to see Sanders and O'Malley in near polling parity within weeks after the debate.
