Ted Lasso coming back for a 4th season!

https://ew.com/ted-lasso-officially-returning-season-4-jason-sudeikis-11696756

Tape that "believe" sign back up above the door, because Ted Lasso is officially returning.

Entertainment Weekly has learned that Apple TV+'s critically acclaimed soccer (/football) series has been renewed for season 4. Series star Jason Sudeikis is back as the titular Coach Ted Lasso in addition to executive producing. No other cast members are confirmed to return yet, but Brett Goldstein (who plays Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (who plays Coach Beard) are back as executive producers (with Goldstein also writing), so here's hoping we'll finally learn who Keeley (Juno Temple) chooses in the end: Roy Kent or Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster).

"As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap,'" Sudeikis said in a statement, "in season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be."

Sen. Wyden to hold statewide town hall on March 4th

https://www.wyden.senate.gov/news/press-releases/wyden-announces-open-to-all-town-hall-for-oregonians-on-march-4

“In this unprecedented time in American history, my top priority is making sure Oregonians from every corner of our state can keep weighing in directly with me,” said Wyden, who’s held 1,105 open-to-all town halls throughout Oregon in fulfillment of his promise to hold at least one town hall each year in each of the state’s 36 counties. “Rather than attend the State of the Union, I’m choosing to hear from residents in the best state of the union. That’s been my priority at more than 1,100 town meetings. And there’s no reason to make different choices this Tuesday.”

The on-line town hall on Tuesday, March 4 will begin at 6 pm PT (7 pm MT) and can be watched here on Facebook Live. Oregonians who want to ask a question during the virtual town hall can submit their questions in advance here.

“Senator Wyden has long led the way in town hall accessibility,” said Nathan Williams of People's Town Hall, a town hall series from the founders of Town Hall Project. “At this crucial moment in our democracy, we encourage Oregonians from across the state -- and political spectrum -- to join this conversation with their senior senator."

My adult child went to pick up a prescription and no paperwork was included

No side effect info, how to take, etc

Is this part of the new CDC blackout or an error with the pharmacy?

"America does not let its needy citizens fend for themselves."

Christopher Reeve said that at the DNC in 1996. Currently watching Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story on Max. It’s a really good poignant movie and that quote stood out, especially right now.

I loved his movie Somewhere In Time, but he will always be Superman to me.

South Korea women's 4b movement gaining traction in the US?

https://www.npr.org/2024/11/08/nx-s1-5182888/4b-movement-trump-south-korea

Following President-elect Trump’s victory — which was fueled by male voters and to many looked like a referendum on reproductive rights — some young American women are talking about boycotting men.

The idea comes from the South Korean movement known as 4B, or the 4 No’s (bi means “not” in Korean). It calls for the refusal of dating men (biyeonae), sexual relationships with men (bisekseu), heterosexual marriage (bihon) and childbirth (bichulsan).

Interest in the 4B movement has surged in the days since the election, with Google searches spiking and the hashtag taking off on social media. Scores of young women are exploring and promoting the idea in posts on platforms like TikTok and X.

“I think it’s time for American women to participate in our own 4B movement,” one woman posted on TikTok. “If men won’t respect our bodies, they don’t get access to our bodies.”

Ted Cruz campaign asked to remove anti trans ad with Oregon students

BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) - The Beaverton School District is asking the Ted Cruz campaign to take down two campaign ads after questions about why they feature a Westview High School student. Fox 12 got a response from the Cruz campaign Friday explaining how they got the student’s photo in the first place.

Two Ted Cruz campaign ads got the attention of Beaverton school district when they were posted on YouTube a few weeks ago. A few folks noticed these ads against transgender students participating in sports. They featured two student athletes from Oregon, both biologically female and identify as such.

One of the ads starts off saying, “Colin Allred is pushing an extreme liberal vision for America. Boys in girls’ locker rooms, boys in girls’ bathrooms, boys in girls’ sports. And he is just getting started.”

Oregon’s US Representative Suzanne Bonamici is also responding to these campaign ads:
“These Ted Cruz ads are outrageous on many levels. It is never acceptable to use photos of minors without permission, and especially abhorrent when those photos are used for political purposes. It’s also disturbing that the photos misrepresent the gender identity of the minors in an attempt to fearmonger and promote hateful, harmful policies. Ted Cruz must take those ads down immediately to protect the students. And he needs to stop picking on kids.”

I voted!

Ballot came in the mail yesterday. I sat down at my kitchen table this morning, spent time with the voter’s pamphlets and voted. Getting in the car, driving to my local ballot box and dropping my ballot in the slot felt so good!

John Denver died 27 years ago today

Sure do miss him. Here’s a song that’s very prophetic, The Wings That Fly Us Home.
