Seems to be a pretty even divide between those who think Trump is losing his mind and those who think he is playing us. Im on the side hes going off the deep end. I dont think hes smart enough to be thinking ahead and following thru. Too impulsive, I think his mouth just vomits out whatever ridiculous thought he is having. What do you think?

(4,767 posts)(Supposedly Kinski was always off raving about something or other and the Indians thought he was crazy and offered to kill him).
Kinskis fits can partly be explained by his egocentric character. Egocentric is perhaps not the right word; he was an outright egomaniac. Whenever there was a serious accident, it became a big problem because, all of a sudden, he was no longer the center of attention. He was no longer important.
[On the set of Fitzcarraldo], a lumberman was bitten by a snake while cutting a tree. This was the most dangerous snake of all. It only takes a few minutes before cardiac arrest occurs. He dropped the saw and thought about it for five seconds and then he grabbed his saw again and cut off his foot. It saved his life, because the camp and serum was 20 minutes away. When that happened, I knew Kinski would start raving with some trifling excuse, because now he was just a marginal figure.
In another incident, a plane crashed, which was bringing people here. Luckily, they all survived, but some were seriously injured. Kinski saw that he was no longer in demand. So, he threw a fit, because his coffee was only lukewarm that morning. For hours he screamed at me, that close to my face. Incredible. I didnt know how to calm him down, and then I had an inspiration. I went to my hut, where, for months I had hidden a piece of chocolate. We would almost have killed one another for something like that. I went back to him, going right into his face and ate the chocolate. All of a sudden he was quiet. This was utterly beyond him.
Kinskis raving fits strained things with our Indian extras. They were Machiguengas, these two here, and a lot of Campas, too. Normally, they speak very softly and physical contacts are gentle. They were afraid. They would sit huddled together, whispering.
Towards the end of shooting, the Indians offered to kill Kinski for me. They said: "Shall we kill him for you? And I said: No, for Gods sake! I still need him for shooting. Leave him to me!
I declined, at the time, but they were dead serious. They would have killed him, undoubtedly, if I had wanted it. I at once regretted that I held the Indians back from their purpose.

does. It's all impulse and reaction to whatever happens, to whatever others do or say about him and subsequently whatever comes to his adderol-addled brain.
Anyone who thinks that fool is thinking clearly and is on top of things is not thinking clearly themselves.

(58,785 posts)the collapse part. He's apparently been raging and getting worse for over 3 years, but for all I know, with those surrounding him hiding the worst and trying to keep him going, might have another 3 without ever decompensating to an end.

Most recently he admitted to trolling, when he met with RW social media figures he told them he tweets outrageous stuff just to see it as breaking news
I would add he is not trolling us per se, some DUers are starting to get it, and a few serious journalists as well
But most of the rest of the media are getting punked

(58,546 posts)Nah, he's just a megalomaniacal narcissist completely out of his depth as president. He should've stayed in his little real estate/hotel racket where he could continue getting away with selling his brand and plastering his name on hotels and condo buildings he really doesn't own, cheating vendors, running scam side businesses and using his lawyers and fixers and deeper pockets to intimidate those he cheated from getting legal recourse. He could still be doing that instead of being exposed as the actual blustering, debacle-a-day blunderer that he is.
He might think he's trolling his opponents and the media but he's actually screwing up the world economy with this foolish trade war.
And he thinks he's the chosen one (he actually had the almost comical chutzpah to say that out loud in front of TV cameras and the nation). He also retweeted that he is the king of the Jews.
Trolling my ass, he's not even close to being able to handle the job and is in way, way over the fake, blond, bird's nest on his head.

(58,546 posts)to say he's a liar so it's really not trolling if it's ridiculed and called lies.
A year ago ihe was given the benefit of the doubt that he was maybe trolling, but since then the media has lost it's reluctance to call him out. They no longer call what he does untruths or inaccuracies, they call him a liar now.
Everyone knows the 10-15 million vote foolishness was a straight out lie, not a troll.

(2,809 posts)He's used the trick for decades, but progressively all perspicaciousness of his screeds is unraveling.
Just be outrageous enough to keep your ugly orange mug in front of the microphones, the cameras, deflect any criticisms with "who? little old me?"'s and pick any culprit his adoring masses will turn their hate towards no matter how ludicrous.
Yet the creeping dementia is beyond denial. Neurofibrillary tangles are multiplying daily at this point, and any fool who believes he can sustain any grasp on reality for another 4 years is likely about halfway demented also, or just incredulously imperceptive.
