Four years later, as Vance considered a career in GOP politics, he asked a former college professor to delete the article. That professor, ...

A Texas district court judge on Monday denied a request by Attorney General Ken Paxton to block a Bexar County plan to mail voter registration forms to county residents ahead of the November election, saying the request was moot. Ohio state police to protect schools following Trump-inspired terror threats
(AP) Ohio state police will help protect schools in a city at the center of a political furor over Haitian migrants, the governor announced Monday, while local officials canceled an annual celebration of cultural diversity in the fallout over former President Donald Trumps false claims about pet-eating. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, has denounced the debunked rumors that spread online before Trump amplified them at last weeks presidential debate, saying there is no evidence of it. He said at a news conference in Springfield on Monday that dozens of members of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be stationed in city schools starting Tuesday following a series of threats across the city, sweeping each building every morning before the arrival of faculty or students. Security cameras have also been stationed at strategic spots in the city, and a bomb-sniffing dog will be in the city and available round-the-clock.
Residents express fear after sheriff says 'write down all the addresses' of Harris supporters
(The Portager) Portage County (Ohio) Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski seemed to encourage his friends and supporters to write down the addresses of people with Democratic yard signs, sparking accusations of voter intimidation. In identical posts to his personal and public Facebook accounts on Sept. 13, Zuchowski wrote what he claims to tell people who ask him what will happen if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the presidential election. Using dehumanizing language, he says he tells them to record the addresses of people with Harris yard signs in order to house immigrants with them.
Suffolk Poll Says Harris Leads Trump In PA, Two Bellwether Counties
(Politics PA) Harris, the Democratic candidate, has a three-point lead over the Republican nominee, 49-46%, in a survey of 500 likely voters in the Commonwealth in a poll conducted Sept. 12-15. The results are within the polls margin of error of +/-4.4. Pennsylvania is considered the most important swing state to both of the campaigns and its 19 electoral votes will go a long way to determining the occupant of the White House for the next four years. The survey results showed that the vice president also led the former president in Northampton and Erie counties two counties that have picked the winner of the last two presidential elections.
Key Republicans' shrinking leads could give Democrats new path to Senate majority
(Salon) While most analyses have identified Montana as the most likely tipping point state for control of the Senate in 2024, there are races in Texas, Florida and potentially Nebraska that appear about as competitive as Montana and could give Democrats a path to the majority. In Texas, Democratic Rep. Colin Allred trails Republican Sen. Ted Cruz by just four points, 43% to 47%, according to a recent Texas Public Opinion Research survey. Florida is the other state where a Democratic challenger, Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, is hoping to unseat a Republican incumbent, Sen. Rick Scott. In the race, Emerson College and The Hill polling found Murcarsel-Powell trailing Scott by just one point earlier this month.
