They did not know she was or wasn't. Attempting to run it off the road, possibly crash and burn is attempted murder of a candidate and her supporters. Trump cheered and retweeted.
FBI anyone?

(28,834 posts)The tour was advertised here in central Texas, which is how they knew where and when to target it. It was noted in the ads that it was local politicians, including Wendy Davis, and not the primary campaign.
In fact, they might have targeted it *because* it wasn't Biden or Harris - the security and law enforcement presence wouldn't be as high as the main tour. Better chance of getting away with it.
I don't get why some aren't being arrested. Road rage is a thing and people get charged for it. Seems pretty obvious in this case, and there's video evidence.

But I am speaking absurdities... non-corrupt local law enforcement? That's a good one!

Plus there would have state trooper escorts.

(17,883 posts)I worked the Biden line before the Nashville debate, right where his motorcade came through, even got to great Jill face to face. Fifteen mins prior to that moment the street was dead quiet...completely shut down. It was eerie as hell. Then moments before the motorcade and Jill greeting us, agents came out of literally nowhere, wanted all of his and secured the line. It was intense. They weren't playing
