My run-in with a maskless idiot at the grocery store

Trying to decide what type of ribs to buy when a maskless guy comes up to me. I moved away and couldn't help commenting "nice mask you're not wearing"

He replied back " You can't live in fear"

I shot back, "No, but you can die in ignorance"

You know, I think I made his little brain pause for a moment- You could actually see the wheels turning

Are gone because of cracked tooth syndrome and I have a lot of tattoos and Pierces, wear a mowhawk,

And I am not stupid.

Don't denigrate
people into tattoos and body modification. Or people going through the hell of losing teeth and not enough money to get implants. Or can't get them because of health problems.

Being a magat / trumper is enough to see someone is dumber than a bag of hammers.

No need to base the ignorance of trump idiots on how someone changes their body or oral health problems and health issues.

Yeah the ignorance assumption is irritating.

My teeth crack easily. And when they crack they have to pull them out. They are sore alot.
Having teeth cracking and getting yanked out fucks up the nerves in the mouth and gums.

Well once my teeth are gone I can finally get a toungue pierce. The barbell wouldn't have any teeth to knock against and crack.

Sorry about your health issue. I wonder if oil pulling would help. It strengthens the teeth and pulls impurities out of the head. I was getting constant cavities until I started oil pulling. Just Google if to find out about it.

And thanks for posting.

Trumpers seem to have picked their spots to swarm. No masks at a Bi-Lo grocery store or any Dollar General. Many more masks at any Ingles, large or small. And oddly, close to everyone in a mask at Lowe's. Do trumpers not do home repairs?

We avoid them as well, but playing Dodge Trumpers makes every shopping trip last much longer than it should.

I too gave noticed certain stores attract anti mask idiots. I guess its the ones with no mask required signs. Publix, Target Wal-Mart in Kennesaw, Woodstock Wal-Mart and Ingles seem to have the most people wearing mask. Kroger,Food Depot and Dollar General most not wearing mask.

I make it a point to not shop at stores without a mask requirement and stores that the anti mask crowd shop at.

They say sternly that masks that cover nose and mouth must be worn in the store. Followed by "Thank you for your cooperation." If you don't choose to cooperate, no big deal, nothing will be done. Hardly a requirement. Interestingly, the. liquor store here enforces the masks and will escort you out if you won't wear one. The ONLY store in town that enforces it. We have not been to Walmart since March. I imagine you can see the virus in the air, given the typical shopper there. We haven't missed it a bit.

It's fundamentally the same as people who refuse to wear helmets on motorcycles or seatbelts in cars. It has nothing to do with "living in fear" or ignorance. It's all about living with stupidity by refusing a simple solution which mitigates risk. There's also an element of assholery in that the aforementioned examples have nothing to do with mitigating risk for those around you.

My mother passed in the hospital this month. It was not entirely unexpected, but the trauma of her being isolated and not being able to visit her in the hospital because of COVID transmission and her ultimately becoming COVID positive near the end was, is and always will be a personal horror and hole in my being. I was robbed. My family was robbed. My mother was robbed. All the things that we as humans do with and for each other near the hour of our passing was STOLEN because some assholes "can't live in fear"...

To that mask-less fool:
FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!! FUCK YOU!!!!
What my family has lost is so much more than just our matriarch and irreplaceable center...what is gone now can NEVER be returned, NEVER be made whole, NEVER be replaced. And I am not alone in this anguish or suffering - MILLIONS of others in families impacted by COVID or because of it are in similar positions.

Put that mask on your fucking worthless face and leave it there, because if you refuse and you lip off to me or near me about it, I am going to remove the tire iron from my truck and take out as many of your teeth as I can before they arrest me. I am through with this pain because of your fucking desire to act like a tough guy.

If someone like that says to me "You can't live in fear..." I am going to tell them that they had better start running then, because you can't live around me without a mask and keep your fucking teeth.

This whole thing is chewing me up inside and I don't think I am ever going to fully come out of it...I am really fearful of what may happen if people continue this path...

My immediate family has been coping with this in isolation from each other still...due to COVID concerns and travel restrictions and the idea of trying to navigate arrangements for people from as far apart as Florida and Alaska, we are in a sustained state of suspended animation...

Mom requested that there be no wake or viewing and wished to be cremated, so we have honored her wishes, but we are unable to get closure or start healing because we cannot get finalization on her Memorial Mass or services and the rest - the lack of intimate closure and final in-person good byes - will never be filled in. I will carry that hole in my heart with me the rest of my days and there is nothing that anyone can do to fill it now. I'll learn to live with it, it hurts a little less acutely every day, so I know that in the cruel passage of time, the anguish will fade to be less immediate, less present than it is now.

It is made all the worse by the stories and photos and experiences of those who refuse to wear masks or insist that COVID is overblown as a concern and not as serious as it is.

One day, I will have what passes for peace, when the entire 24 hours will pass without a reminder of this horror show...but that day feels a long, long way off right now...
