Galapagos rock formation Darwin's Arch has collapsed

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/galapagos-darwins-arch-collapses/index.html

"Unfortunately today, our guests of the Galapagos Aggressor III experienced a once in a lifetime event," the company shared.
"This morning at 11:20 a.m. local time, the world famous Darwin's Arch collapsed in front of their eyes.
"Some in the dive & travel industry are already referring to this now as 'The Pillars of Evolution'. We will miss this iconic site."

I like the new title “The Pillars of Evolution” though I think “The Missing Link” would work as well.

A pity, but as inevitable as time and tide, which were its causes. JHB May 2021 #2

collapsed a couple years ago.

BTW, Malta is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone who wants a slightly unconventional alternative to a boring Paris, Rome or Milan trip...

(sarcasm, Paris, Rome and Milan aren't bad)

And he's recently become obsessed with Malta.

We have friends who just sold everything they owned (we're in Southern Oregon) tools, cars, house, and moved to Spain. Some days that sounds like a wonderful idea.

At least is wasn't because of some asshole having a "hold my beer" moment.
